Dr. Kathie Carson, a Dumfries native, earned her Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and in 1996, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia School of Dentistry. To gain more experience treating the dental needs of medically compromised patients, she completed a General Practice Residency in 1997 through West Virginia University at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She joined the United States Navy where she practiced general dentistry for five years. While on active duty, she completed a two-year specialty endodontic residency at the Naval Post Graduate Dental School. In addition to her Endodontic certificate, a Master's degree in Oral Biology was attained from the George Washington University while completing her endodontic training.

In her spare time, you most likely would find her on the golf course, relaxing on the beach, or watching her youngest playing lacrosse.
