Dr. Petley is a western Pennsylvania native and a longtime resident of Pittsburgh, PA. Following graduation from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Dr. Petley began his professional dental education at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation Dr. Petley started a general dentistry practice in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Dr. Petley enjoyed several years of providing comprehensive, family dental care in a very successful private practice. A mid-career opportunity took Dr. Petley to West Virginia University, School of Dentistry, for an Endodontic dental specialty residency.
Dr. Petley was recognized in his endodontic residency for his research project, demonstrating the use of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) as a pulp capping and vital pulp therapy for children. Dr. Petley was appointed Chief Resident his second year, and received a James A. Griffin Scholarship for academic achievement.
Dr. Petley has a passion for endodontics and empathy for patients needing endodontic therapy. Dr. Petley is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Petley and his wife April are looking forward to their future in Suffolk, VA.
